Trail Mix

I've been trying really hard to recreate some of my children's favorite treats into a healthier version.
My kids love the big bag of trail mix you can buy at the wholesale clubs. You know the kind that is  highly processed, full of hydrogenated oils and artificial colors, and loaded with sugar-laden m&m's?

I came up with my own version of trail mix that is clean healthy and liked by most of my kids. 
I say most because if you saw my instagram post (you can find me at watchmewhisk) you already know that my 9 year old was giving the trail mix  I packed in her luchbox away everyday. 
You can't win 'em all.

Trail Mix

3 cups raw nuts
1 cup raisins
1/2 cup largely shredded unsweetened coconut
1/2 cup dark chocolate chips*
1/2 cup sunflower seeds

Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl. Store in an air-tight container.

*omit the chocolate chips to make whole30 approved
